Amgen says Teva’s lipegfilgrastim would violate patent related to modified human G-CSF polypeptides such as AMGN’s long-acting Neulasta, used to prevent risk of infection in cancer patients on chemotherapy.

* AMGN says Teva making preparations to sell lipegfilgrastim upon FDA approval without license or authorization under AMGN’s 8,058,398 patent; AMGN sees FDA approval as early as Dec. 2013
* NOTE: Teva said Aug. 8 that lipegfilgrastim (Lonquex) was granted EU marketing authorization
